After graduating from the University of Michigan in 1986, Jeffrey moved to New York where he worked, over the next ten years, as a publicist, booking agent and producer. With business partner Kevin McCollum he produced Rent (1996), for which he won the Tony Award® for Best Musical; De La Guarda (1998); Baz Luhrmann's production of Puccini's La Bohème (2002); and most recently AVENUE Q, for which he also won the Tony Award® for Best Musical.
