Training: Yanle was born in China, and trained at the Manhattan School of Music in New York, where she received a BA (voice), and at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, where she received an MA (musical theatre). Theatre includes: Lavender in Lavender Girl at the Edinburgh Festival, and Tuptim in the 2005 national tour of The King and I for which she received great critical acclaim.
Other theatre includes: Yelena in Philistines and Fay in Loot (RSAMD), I Have a Date with Spring (Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre), One Finest Sound (Tron, Glasgow), Zerlina in Don Giovanni (Toppan Hall, Tokyo), Singing School (BBC Radio) and she has regularly appeared as a soloist for the BBC, Forbidden City Concert Hall, Beijing, Shanghai Grand Theatre and Shanghai TV. Avenue Q marks Yanle’s West End debut.
